E' tra le bollenti, scintillanti rovine
dell' estate '98 che il batterista Manuel Togni ed il chitarrista
cantante Fabio Bellan posano la pietra angolare d'una nuova
entita’ musicale, presto raggiunti dal
chitarrista Dave Battaglia e dal bassista Nik Mazzucconi. Nessuno
di loro demarca confini creativi ne’ rigidi limiti di
genere, ma ognuno di loro sa quale sara’ la radice d'ogni
male: un rovente heavy metal di vecchio stampo, inusuale, potente,
oscuro e malato.
Ancora senza un nome, la band perde Bellan e Mazzucconi dopo
poche settimane, sostituiti da Giorgio Bonacorsi al basso (gen.
99), Simone Nava alla chitarra ed Andrea Taeggi alla tastiera
(mar. 99), mentre Battaglia decide di occuparsi anche del canto.
Un nome è necessario affinchè la gente possa spargere
la voce e questo nome e’ALEPH, ispirato dal breve racconto
di J.L. Borges.
Il caos è ora pronto a manifestarsi: con questo nome
e formazione il gruppo pubblica il demo "Falx lunae"
nel gen. 2000 ma poco dopo le registrazioni ed una manciata
di concerti (compreso un live come spalla agli epici vicentini
White Skull), Taeggi abbandona, presto seguito da Nava (feb.
2000), sostituito da Andrea Perucchini (apr. 2000).
La band viene completata nel set. 2000 dal tastierista Giulio
Gasperini; questa
rinnovata formazione torna sui palchi nell' apr. 2001 e pubblica
il suo secondo demo nel feb. 2002, "Promo 2002" e
la canzone che lo apre "Hallowed Hatred" viene inclusa
nella compilation lituana "Atlantida vol. 17".
Nel lug. 2003 Perucchini lascia, e viene magnificamente sostituito
dal talento di Lorenzo Fugazza. Ma, emissario d'un destino avverso,
Bonacorsi lascia vacante il posto di bassista (ago. 2004), mentre
il gruppo registra l'inedita "Acid Tears" per la compilation
"Climbers" (nov. 2004), con Battaglia ad occuparsi
dello strumento orfano. Nel febbraio 2005 la band supporta i
leggendari thrashers genovesi NECRODEATH.
Ad Agosto 2006 la band si esinira’ al prestigioso Festival
Agglutination in quel di Potenza assieme a bands del calibro
di Vision Divine,Sinistre,Dark Lunacy e molte altre Durante
un'altra abbagliante, infernale estate (lug. 2005) i semi del
terzo lavoro vengono sparsi: con l'aiuto del primissimo bassista
Nik Mazzucconi, gli ALEPH entrano in studio per le registrazioni
dell’ album "In Tenebra", che uscira’
ad ottobre 2006 su etichetta Fuel Records distribuzione Self,il
management della band e’ Gatti Promotion.
Nel frattempo, l'ingresso del bassista Antonio Ceresoli (ago.
2005) permette alla band di rinascere come formazione completa.
...In sfibrante attesa del nero cuore d' Autunno, in cui le
tenebre torneranno per strada...
...Di nuovo.

It is amidst the melting, shiny ruins of Summer 98 that drummer
Manuel Togni and Fabio Bellan set the cornerstone of a new musical
entity, soon joined by guitarist Dave Battaglia and bassman
Nik Mazzucconi.
None of them draws creative boundaries nor strict genre cages,
but all of them knows what the root of all evil is gonna be:
a boiling old stock heavy metal, unusual, powerful, obscure,
sick.
Still without a name, the band loses Bellan and Mazzucconi after
a few rehearsals, to be joined by Giorgio Bonacorsi on bass
(January 99), guitarist Simone Nava and keyboard player Andrea
Taeggi (March 99), while guitarist Battaglia extends his skills
to the role of singer.
A name is needed to spread the word: and this word is ALEPH,
inspired by the short novel by J.L. Borges. Chaos is finally
able to manifestate itself.
With this name and line up the band releases the 6 track demo
“Falx Lunae” in January 2000: but shortly after
the recordings and a couple of shows (including a supporting
act to Italian epic metallers WHITE SKULL), Taeggi quits, soon
followed by Nava (February 2000), the latter promptly replaced
by guitarist Andrea Perucchini (March 2000).
The band keeps on playing live without keyboards until September
2000, when joined by keyboard player Giulio Gasperini; this
renewed line up hits the road again in April 2001 and releases
its second creative effort in February 2002: it is the 3 track
“Promo 2002”. It is in Autumn that the opening song
“Hallowed hatred” is featured on the Lithuanian
compilation “Atlantida vol. 17”.
July 2003: guitarist Perucchini leaves ALEPH and it is only
in November that the 6 string talents of Lorenzo Fugazza come
to reinforce the band.
But an evil fate lurks behind the corner and in June 2004 Bonacorsi
withdraws his bass from the thundering rhythm section; but this
does not stop ALEPH from recording the unreleased “Acid
Tears” (August 2004) for the Italian compilation “Climbers”
(November 2004) with Battaglia drawing the bass lines.
The band, however, decides to keep on playing live (supporting
the Italian thrash metal legends NECRODEATH in February 2005),
although bassless (July 2004-July 2005).
In another shiny, iron-melting, hellish Summer (July 2005) the
seeds for the third work are sown: with the help of the very
first bassman Nik Mazzucconi, ALEPH enters the studio for the
recordings of the 5 track demo “In tenebra”.
Meanwhile, the arrival of bass player Antonio “Ceres”
Ceresoli allows the band to be reborn as a
full line up...
...impatiently waiting for the black heart of Autumn, for the
day when darkness returns to the towns...
...once again.
